Casterra beta terms
Casterra is run by SJ Construction Services (Stephen Jones) ("we"). These terms cover your firm's use of Casterra while it's being tested ("the beta"). By signing up you agree to them on behalf of your firm.
1. It's a test
Casterra is still being built. Things will change, some things won't work, and there may be times it's unavailable. Please keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose: contracts, RAMS, certificates, invoices and anything you'd need to show the HSE, an insurer or a court. Casterra is a tool to help you; it doesn't replace your own judgement or your legal duties (for example under CDM 2015, RIDDOR or the Construction Act).
2. Free while in beta
There's no charge during the beta. AI features have a monthly allowance; when it's used up they pause until the next month and everything else carries on. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before any charges start, and you can leave before then.
3. Your data stays yours
Everything your firm puts into Casterra belongs to your firm. We only use it to run Casterra for you, to fix problems and to improve the product. We don't sell it or use it to market to your clients or subcontractors. For the personal details in it (your staff, clients and subcontractors), you're the controller and we act for you as your processor; see the privacy notice.
4. What we ask of you
Keep logins to the people they belong to, use strong passwords, and give staff access only to what they need. Only put in personal details you're allowed to hold. Tell us straight away if you think someone has got in who shouldn't have, using the "Report a problem" button or steve@sjconstructionservices.co.uk.
5. Feedback
The point of the beta is your feedback. Use "Report a problem" on any page. We can use your ideas to improve Casterra without owing you anything for them.
6. Leaving, and the end of the beta
You can stop at any time. Ask and we'll give you an export of your firm's data and then delete it from Casterra within 30 days (backups roll off within a further 14 days). We can end the beta or your access with reasonable notice, and straight away if Casterra is being misused.
7. Liability
Because it's a free test, Casterra is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect loss, lost profits or lost data. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow to be limited.
8. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: steve@sjconstructionservices.co.uk.
